Action films are characterized by a large amount of action and a concentrated level of violence. The depth of content in such movies is often secondary, so the whole focus is on chase and shootout scenes. However, the best action movies show the evolution of characters through the prism of such events. Peaceful moments are used to give the viewer a small break, and also often convey the moral message that the directors wanted to convey. All new action films have one main element that has developed along with the genre - the goal is physical destruction of the enemy.
