Plot

Palko is a 10-year-old schoolboy who moved to Budapest from Berlin and is trying to adapt to the demanding Hungarian education system. Upon entering a new school, he has to start making friends anew, endure boring lessons and awful cafeteria meals, and face the cruelty of teachers. In this outdated system, Palko feels like an outsider—but he is not the only one. Standing against the archaic school methods is a young teacher named Uci.

"The Lesson Learned", shot on 16mm film, was filmed by "Euphoria" cinematographer Marcell Rév, who is a recipient of an Emmy Award. The film achieved great success in Hungary, attracting 130,000 viewers.
