Trailer

Plot

The screening of the restored version of the film «The Color of Pomegranates» is dedicated to the birthday of director Sergey Parajanov. The restoration of the film was carried out by the Martin Scorsese foundation in collaboration with Cineteca di Bologna.

The life of the Armenian poet Sayat-Nova, from childhood to death: his spiritual journey, artistic works, and internal conflicts made him the ultimate lyric poet. He — a master of mystification who ended up caught in his own traps.

— World premiere of the restored version, 67th Cannes Film Festival, 2014

— Martin Scorsese Award for Film Restoration, Parajanov-Vartanov Institute, 2014
