Plot
For the 12th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity, a large-scale documentary film, which was filmed over 10 years – from the Maidan to the full-scale invasion. It's the story of two passionate idealists who meet and fall in love during the Revolution of Dignity. After the occupation of Crimea and the start of the war in Donbas, Pavlo loses his home in Donetsk and joins a volunteer battalion, while Svitlana becomes a volunteer. The situation intensifies when, in fierce battles, Pavlo confronts his former instructor and airsoft teammates who switched sides to the aggressor and became separatists. Defending their country, democracy, and love, the young couple faces tough life choices.
Featured in the film are participants of the Maidan events, military personnel, and public figures, including writer Les Podervianskyi and the band Kozak System. Historian Timothy Snyder called the film «beautiful and a must-watch.» The world premiere of «Tempered by Fury» took place at the Tribeca Festival. The film received an impressive number of nominations and awards at international film festivals, including three major prizes at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.
