Plot
"Our Fajta" is one of the few Ukrainian animated films aimed at teenagers and young adults. The film, with its universal language of animation, simply and humorously addresses the complex issues of self-identification, the search for meaning, and a sense of belonging. It emphasizes that everyone, even a failure, can become a hero. Genre-wise, it is a comedy, but essentially it is a parable.
The plot is based on the story of a 30-year-old loser, Serhiy Punko, who, due to a mistake by the angel of death – a cat named Miki, finds himself in heaven. The higher powers are willing to give the hero a second chance, but in order to return to life, he must find at least one person who cares about him. Serhiy's search leads him to the frontlines, to the unit called the "Chop Pirates," where a cauldron of love, friendship, war, betrayal, self-discovery, feats, revelations, and the spirit of Transcarpathia awaits him.
