Plot
The film tells the story of the outstanding role in the history of Ukraine played by the legendary ruler of Kievan Rus' - Prince Yaroslav the Wise. Even in his childhood, being a lame boy and experiencing bullying, he had no idea that he would become the one to unite the disparate lands around Kiev and create a powerful medieval state.
An important role in his reign was played by his wife - the Swedish princess Ingegerd. Together, they initiated a far-sighted matrimonial policy, strengthening international alliances through marriages of their children with European monarchs. As a result, three daughters of Yaroslav became queens of great states - Norway, France, and Hungary, solidifying the influence of Kievan Rus' on the political map of Europe.
